NOTICE is hereby given that the first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Members of the Society of Agriculture, registered charity in England and Wales no. 1212403, will take place via Zoom on 4th September 2026 for the purpose of transacting the business set out below:
- To receive apologies for absence.
- To note that this is the first Annual General Meeting of the Society of Agriculture since its registration as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
- To receive a report on the formation and registration of the Society of Agriculture as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
- To consider and appoint James Cowper Kreston as Independent Examiner.
- To elect the President
- To elect the Chair of Council
- To elect the Vice Chair of Council
- To elect the Treasurer
- To elect members of Council
- To adopt the Rules of the Society of Agriculture (CLICK HERE)
- To record a vote of thanks
- Any Other Business
Written notice of items to be raised under Any Other Business must be lodged by emailing the Director (victoria@soc-ag.org) by 28th August 2026.
Council has nominated the persons listed in below for election or appointment to the relevant officer and Council vacancies at the AGM.
In accordance with the Society of Agriculture’s Rules, any member entitled to vote may nominate another duly qualified person for election to any officer or Council vacancy, provided that the nominee has confirmed their willingness to serve if elected. Nominations must be received by the Society no later than seven days before the AGM.
If the number of nominations for any vacancy exceeds the number of vacancies, a ballot will be held at the AGM.
Members elected to Council will become charity trustees of the Society of Agriculture, subject to eligibility and acceptance of office in accordance with the Society’s Constitution.
