Online CPD Session: Next generation of Agricultural Leaders
Supporting the development of future agricultural leaders by exploring leadership skills, sector challenges and opportunities for the next generation.
Guest Speakers:

Alex works at School of Sustainable Food and Farming (SSFF) at Harper Adams University, with more than 25 years’ experience leading and developing people and teams. He leads the Tesco-sponsored Future Farmer Programme, which supports farmers under 40 through knowledge exchange, leadership development and industry networking opportunities. Alex also works with Arla, Morrisons, McDonalds and the NFU to engage non-traditional audiences with careers in agriculture and collaborates with LEAF to connect inner-city children with farming and rural life. His work focuses on developing future agricultural leaders, widening participation in the sector and ensuring agriculture remains an attractive and accessible career choice for the next generation.

A graduate of Nottingham University’s School of Agriculture, Guy is a sales and marketing specialist who helped pioneer the marketing of cut flowers and plants to multiple retailers in the UK in the 1980’s and held Commercial Director and Managing Director roles in some of the country’s largest produce and horticultural businesses before setting up MorePeople in 2000.
He is a Freeman of The City of London and a Liveryman of both the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers and The Worshipful Company of GardenersHe is a director and Trustee of TIAH (The Institute of Agriculture & Horticulture), a trustee and board member of Camden Garden Centre and the GC Charitable Trust and a board member and Trustee of Perennial, The Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society and the main horticultural charity in the UK and spends (too much) time following Peterborough United !!!
