Module 8: Future Farming
What does the future hold for agriculture: the role of Agri Tech in business? Developments in agricultural policy and markets? Opportunities, threats and future farming landscapes.
Aims
The module aims to facilitate trainees to:
- To understand emerging agri-tech opportunities
- Awareness of factors that will influence the future farming landscape
- Understanding directions in future UK agri-environmental policy
Topics
The topics covered in the module will include:
- What does the future hold for the role of agri-tech in agriculture
- Regen agriculture, new entrants and skills for the future
- Opportunities & threats from climate change and policies
- Farm food loss and waste
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the day each trainee will be able to:
- Identify and consider future trends in agri-tech and farm policy development
- Scope and consider external challenges to farming businesses
