Aims
The module aims to facilitate trainees to:
- To Identify business opportunities for farmers
- To understand why customers buy and value your products compared to your nearest competitors
- To explore and understand how to develop a strong brand value proposition
- To appreciate the importance of marketing to a farm business
Topics
The topics covered in the module will include:
- Exploiting business opportunities
- Understanding how to market your business
- The importance of image and promote brand benefits that differentiate from the competition
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the day each trainee will be able to:
- Assess opportunities for farm businesses and how to exploit them
- Understand farm benchmarking and the benefits it offers farm businesses
- Understand and address marketing risks for your businesses to maintain a competitive edge and sustain growth
- Evaluate the importance of marketing and image to a farm business
- Develop a marketing strategy for a farm business
