Understand the importance of effective influencing, how to negotiate for ‘win-win’ and the power of networking.
Aims:
The module aims to facilitate trainees to:
- This interactive workshop is designed to increase your understanding of Assertive behaviour and recognise how it will enable you to influence others and negotiate effectively with the many different people you interact with in your workplace.
Topics:
The topics covered in the module will include:
- What influence do you have?
- How does your behaviour impact on your ability to influence others?
- How assertive behaviour increases your ability to influence
- Effective negotiation and the possible outcomes
- Skills used by effective negotiators
- Putting learning into practise
- Creating a plan to develop your influence, assertion and negotiation skills
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the day each trainee will be able to:
- Identify what influence you have with others
- Have a greater understanding of the impact your behaviour has on others
- Recognise how your attitude and beliefs impact on how you behave
- Define assertive behaviour, identifying what it looks and sounds like
- Explore how assertive behaviour enables you to display greater confidence in a variety of situations including conflict and negotiations
- Identify how to plan and conduct effective negotiations
- Explore the skills used by a good negotiator
- Practise your influence, assertion and negotiation skills using real life scenarios
