Ashley Gilman, Director of Agricultural Strategy at Cranswick
Cranswick is focused on premium fresh pork, poultry, convenience, gourmet products and acquired a pet food business in 2022. Through its own farming operations, Cranswick is over 55% self-sufficient in pork and 100% self-sufficient in chicken and delivering net-zero livestock is a key pillar in their production strategy.
Ash has extensive experience in managing large Agri-businesses and vertically integrated supply chains direct into retail, food service and processing customers. Starting his professional career as a farms manager for Velcourt plc, and subsequently as Farms Director for Norfolk-based Maurice Crouch Growers Ltd, a large-scale, multi-sited leafy salad and brassica producer.
He has a BSc from Wye College, University of London and an MSc in Advanced Farm Management from the Royal Agricultural University. He sits on the Red Tractor Pig Sector Board, is a Board Director for the National Pig Association, and sits on the Soil & Water Business Board for East Anglia. Ash lives in North Norfolk with his wife and two daughters.
