The study concludes that using vegetable by-products as cattle feed can significantly reduce emissions while also preventing useful materials from becoming waste. This approach supports a circular economy and could help make food production more environmentally sustainable, benefiting society by reducing the environmental impact of livestock farming.
Abstract
Livestock farming is blamed for its significant carbon footprint (CF), contributing to environmental pollution and climate change. Among other approaches, this has highlighted the need to find alternative feeding systems for cattle production that are potentially able to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
