Growing up in rural Dorset with strong ties to the farming community, Lydia has always been passionate about agriculture. Although not from a farming family, Lydia was determined to build a career within the industry and to make a meaningful contribution by supporting farmers, landowners and rural businesses through the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

Lydia holds an Honours Degree in Applied Farm Management from the Royal Agricultural University and currently works for Tayler and Fletcher as a Rural Assistant and Farm Consultant, advising farmers across a broad range of agricultural matters. Professionally, Lydia has been a member of BIAC since 2023, which later merged into the Society of Agriculture, and is also a member of the CAAV.

Outside of work, Lydia is heavily involved with her local Young Farmers’ Club and is proud to serve as one of the 2026/27 NFU Student and Young Farmer Ambassadors. Lydia is also a member of The Farmers Club. Lydia is particularly passionate about advocating for the agricultural industry, encouraging younger generations to pursue careers within it, continuing her own professional development, and supporting the custodians of the countryside.
