Society of Agriculture represented at the Society for the Environment Education and Skills Network meeting

Published on March 16th, 2026

The Society of Agriculture was represented at the recent Society for the Environment (SocEnv) Education and Skills Network meeting by Mark Suthern FPSAg.

The session provided a useful opportunity to discuss how professional bodies can strengthen education, skills and career pathways linked to environmental and land-based professions. For the Society of Agriculture, the discussions were particularly relevant in highlighting the breadth of professional roles across agriculture, including the important contribution made by technicians and early-career professionals within the sector.

The meeting also highlighted a range of resources available through the SocEnv Education and Skills Network, which may be of interest to members involved in education, training or professional development. These include regularly updated education news, an overview of education and skills initiatives across the network, and a collection of career advice resources designed to support individuals considering environmental and land-based careers.
