An online briefing taking place this Wednesday, 3 December at 1.00pm will introduce the new Society of Agriculture (SocAg), ahead of its official launch on 1 January 2026.
The 60-minute session, delivered jointly by the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM) and the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (BIAC), will provide an overview of SocAg’s purpose, structure and plans as the two organisations unify under a single professional body for the UK agricultural sector.
The session will outline SocAg’s role as an independent professional body representing consultants, farm managers, rural business specialists, advisors, academics and early-career professionals. Its mission focuses on strengthening professionalism across agriculture through recognised standards, accessible CPD, stronger networks and clear pathways for career development. The organisation’s values — integrity, competence, collaboration, professionalism and innovation — will underpin its work.
