Have your say on Chartered Status in Agriculture

Published on August 6th, 2026

Throughout 2026, the Society of Agriculture has been working alongside other professional organisations through the Agricultural Assembly to explore the potential development of a unified Chartered Agriculturalist status.

The aim is to create a recognised professional benchmark for agricultural expertise, competence and integrity. This could strengthen the standing of agriculture, demonstrate professional capability and build greater recognition and trust among government, other professions, clients, landowners, retailers, financial institutions and the wider public.

A Chartered Agriculturalist designation could also provide clearer routes to professional recognition through qualifications and experience, while supporting consistent standards across the sector.
