A culture of underreporting is hiding the true extent of workplace injuries in UK agriculture, according to new research from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
OSH is warning that many accidents and near misses are never listed on official reporting systems, despite agriculture being one of the UK’s most dangerous industries.
The organisation says increased transparency and learning from incidents will be crucial in reducing the industry’s high rates of serious injury and death.
