Thomas works Phileo By Lesaffre, a global fermentation specialist responsible for producing 40% of the worlds yeast. He closely with farmers, ruminant feed mills, biogas units and industry professionals across the UK and Ireland, delivering technical support and practical insight into management and nutrition. A qualified CowSignals® Master Trainer, Thomas facilitates knowledge exchange sessions and presents on topics such as rumen and immune function at roadshows, team meetings, technical events and conferences.

Though not from a farming background, Thomas has been passionate about food and farming from a young age. For a number of years in Bedfordshire, where he grew up, he worked for both a traditional mixed dairy, beef and arable farm, and also a large sheep enterprise. After obtaining a BSc (Hons) from Harper Adams University, he worked for The AF Group (Anglia Farmers), managing their livestock inputs and general supplies departments, involving the management of two raw material books and a contribution towards the operation of the Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group (TSDG) price tracker. During this time he also obtained an MSc from the Royal Veterinary College and has more recently completed the Tesco Future Farmer Programme facilitated by the School of Sustainable Food and Farming.

Outside of work, Thomas is a father to an 18-month-old daughter and is passionate about shooting, walking and paddleboarding. He sits on the organising committee for the National Farm Management Conference, volunteers for the Mid-Norfolk Food Bank, is a council member of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association and is a keen supporter of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), for which he was Norfolk Chair and Treasurer for several years.
