Society of Agriculture members receive latest SFI26 update

Published on July 10th, 2026

As a recognised stakeholder within the agricultural sector, the Society of Agriculture continues to engage with government, agencies and industry bodies on matters affecting farmers, land managers and agricultural professionals.

Advisor members have now received the latest Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 questions and answers from the Rural Payments Agency, providing further detail on eligibility, application windows, available funding, payment arrangements and changes to the scheme.

The update covers a wide range of practical issues, including arrangements for small farms, businesses without an existing Environmental Land Management agreement, and farmers with SFI or Countryside Stewardship agreements approaching their end date. It also explains changes to actions, payment rates and agreement rules.
