The Society of Agriculture was publicly launched on April 16th at a lunch at the House of Lords, hosted by Society President Lord Taylor of Holbeach CBE and attended by 120 delegates drawn from across the industry and from Government.
The event marked the formal launch of the Society of Agriculture and came at a time when the industry faces significantly challenges, making the objectives and goals of the Society particularly relevant.
Addressing the audience, the Society of Agriculture chairman Simon Britton emphasised that this is not the launch of an organisation for one discipline, one sector or one interest group. It is more significant that this, being a moment for agricultural professionalism as a whole.
