SocAg is running three Rural Consultancy Courses in 2026, covering both foundation and development-level skills, all held at Warwick Conferences, Coventry, CV4 7SH.
Society of Agriculture is delighted to announce its 2026 Rural Consultancy Foundation and Development Courses, designed for new and aspiring consultants as well as experienced professionals seeking a refresher. These residential 2‑day courses provide an intensive, practical insight into the modern agricultural and rural advisory profession.
The Rural Consultancy Foundation Course (formerly Foundation 1) offers an introduction to consultancy, including transitioning into consultancy roles, managing the “promise–deliver–leave behind” relationship, the art and skill of report writing, and understanding terms of engagement. Delegates will explore why UK agriculture is where it is today and where it is going, balancing food security, environmental recovery and farm viability, alongside essential topics such as PI insurance, competence, business planning, banking and finance, tax implications, and practical case studies on contract farming, share farming and alternative business structures.
